FINAL WORDS FOR 2008
Remember when LPU was run out of our bedroom? And our only band was a little duo called GLITTER PALS!? Things have changed (though LPU is still very much run out of a bedroom). We've raised a family, gone worldwide and cyber, slaying thousands of minds and J & M have become super proud label poppas. We're closing out our third year in the biz with some 'full circle' releases that simultaneously bring us back to our beginnings and push the label hella forward:
We're incredibly excited to release the AIDS WOLF follow-up Cities of Glass on LP. This band has thrived on subverting expectations and bumming people out in the noisiest, self-righteous, and ultimately glorious ways and this record is a HUGE step forward. It's loud. It's awesome.
Out in October is the LP of INDIAN JEWELRY'S "Free Gold!" If you've got ears then you're already a fan of their psychedelic monstrosity. This shit was made for vinyl and makes you want to, similarly, melt.
We're also releasing the 2nd of 5 (read collectible!) GENGHIS TRON remix records featuring Black Moth Super Rainbow, Dntel, Circle, and CFCF. Quite a line-up, if Mookie says so himself.
HEALTH, at work on their new album, are taking a break to fulfill the teenage fantasy and tour with NINE INCH NAILS...before returning home for a west coast fling with OF MONTREAL!
Now we hibernate. 2009 is going to be huge.
