RECESSION UPDATE: Happy New Year!!!! 3 Years Left...Ever!!!
Happy new year!!! Despite the world falling apart, 2009 is somehow shaping up to be a huge, huge year for Lovepump United and we can't wait to share all the incredible stuff we have lined up with all of you. First things first: as of January 1st we are distributed by the legendary Touch & Go. Touch. And. Go. Holy shit. We're pretty damn honored to be working with them in any capacity...our records will be wayyyy easier to find now, so keep your eyes peeled at whatever remaining record stores you frequent.
As for the music side of things, we've got more records coming out in the next six months than we can count and it all starts off on March 10th with two incredible 7 inches by newly-crowned Lovepump artist PICTUREPLANE and the much loved CLIPD BEAKS. For those of you not in the know, Pictureplane's 90s-house-meets-durrrty-broken-noise jams are incredddible and his new TRANCE DOLL 7" is GOLD.
The apocalyptic, drugged-out psych of CLIPD BEAKS goes in entirely new and unsettling ways on their VISIONS 7". If there's one song that accurately captures all the crazy anxiety that's swirling around us right now, it's Visions...these dudes are fucking important I tell you, and this 7" is a pretty stunning piece of work. They'll be coming out with a new full-length in the latter half of 2009, and if this single is any indication, it's going to be a roadmap to 2012...
Our boys HEALTH are currently recording the sure-to-be incredible GET COLOR full-length, and if they can correctly align all surviving mics from the 1940s, we'll have a brand new 7" soon.... In the meantime, HEALTH//DISCO comes to wax in a stunning gatefold on 2 x LP pressed at the legendary RTI (http://www.recordtech.com/) plant. Complete with a new remix from MATH HEAD (Passions, Trouble and Bass), the vinyl is re-sequenced and sounds way, way hott.
